Since introducing digital traceability
HACCP & GlobalG.A.P.-aligned milling
Gatsibo District, built 2019
Orchards, solar irrigation, cold chain

Every contract is a household with steadier income, better nutrition, and a stake in what we build together.
Youth Empowerment
Agriculture as a future, not a fallback
Rwanda is one of the world's youngest countries — over 70% of its population is under 35. We see youth not just as labour, but as future leaders and innovators.
Recruitment, training & mentorship
Young men and women are recruited across every level, starting at the farm gate, and grown through field schools, demonstrations, and ongoing mentorship — from GAP to post-harvest quality and food safety.
Integrated across the supply chain
Youth work in packhouse sorting and grading, transport and export documentation, and digital traceability — applying QR codes and tracking products from field to buyer.
Leadership & rotational roles
Young partners lead group demonstrations, manage compliance paperwork, and act as buyer contacts. Leadership rotates each season to build self-reliance and sustain knowledge transfer.
Capacity building
Value-chain training from farm management to market branding, exposure to GlobalG.A.P. and Rainforest Alliance standards, plus trade exhibitions and B2B export forums.
Women at the Heart of Our Business
48% of our farmers are women
Nearly half (48%) of all trained and contracted farmers are women — significantly higher than the national average and a recognised strength in African agrifood supply chains.
French Beans
Women lead field operations, manage grading, and sign off on quality before export.
Chillies
Women and youth manage trial plots, record crop heat levels for buyers, and oversee the move from field to packaging.
Packhouse
Women supervise final sorting, apply QR codes, and sign export documentation.
Maize Milling
Women work in quality assurance, food-safety compliance, and fortified-product packing.
What this means for buyers
- Ethical sourcing — assured gender equity and fair working conditions.
- Consistent quality — strong female leadership in quality control delivers high reliability.
- Resilient partnerships — gender-balanced teams strengthen long-term supply stability.

Farmer Spotlight
Jean Bosco Rutishisha — Rwamagana District
One of our leading partners, Jean Bosco manages a well-established 10-hectare farm dedicated to Hass and Fuerte avocados — 2,000 trees under active cultivation, cared for to meet international market requirements. His farm is integrated into our digital traceability system, with each harvest batch QR-coded from tree to export crate.
“Through the PRICE project, I gained access to better techniques and markets. It changed the way I farm.”
In Their Words
Trusted by the farmers we grow with
Since partnering with EFFECTIVE M&N, I've gained reliable market access and better prices. Their training improved my avocado quality and export sales.
Before EFFECTIVE M&N, I struggled to find buyers for passion fruit. Now, my crops go international, and I get real technical support.
As a young woman, training and contracts from EFFECTIVE M&N helped me join a co-op and earn respect and steady income.
